The Laraki Epitome
At the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, wildly expensive supercars are the norm. That said, this year one car still turned heads amongst the jaded supercar crowd, the Laraki Epitome.
Created by yacht builder Abdesslam Laraki, the Epitome has the engine of a C6 Corvette V8, but unlike the Corvette this machine is all supercar.
Laraki added twin turbochargers to the already powerful engine. When fueled by 91-octane gasoline, the Epitome can produce 1,200 horsepower. Laraki added a second fuel tank to the car and filled it will 110-octaine fuel. When sipping on such pure petrol the Epitome is capable of producing an extraordinary 1,750 HP.
In addition to its engine upgrades, the Epitome is outfitted with a carbon fiber body that bends and curves to create a form that’s both elegant and aerodynamic. The Epitome’s new body hints at Laraki’s tasteful nautical designs while trimming the car’s weight down to about 2,800 lbs.
Currently, Laraki plans to make 9 of these futuristic supercars. Representatives at the Pebble Beach show hinted that a true production model could be in the works.
If that should come to pass, the price could move down from the concept model’s prospective $2 millionprice tag.
