Two McLaren Arturas took to the track in a choreographed display of precision driving to mark the 60th anniversary of Bruce McLaren founding the company in September 1963.

About the McLaren Artura:

The McLaren Artura features a powertrain comprising a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine with an E-motor and energy-dense battery pack. These combine to produce combined outputs of 680PS (671bhp) and 720Nm (530lb ft). At its lightest dry weight of 1,395kg, the Artura boasts a class-leading power-to-weight ratio of 488PS per-tonne – a key attribute in achieving 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 3.0 seconds and 0-200km/h (0-124mph) in just 8.3 seconds.

UAW New Tradition: The Members Handshake

 

UAW family,  Today was a historic day for our union.  This morning, we inaugurated a new tradition: the Members Handshake.    Instead of kicking off Big Three negotiations with a dog and pony show shaking hands with CEOs, we’re putting the membership first. Our UAW leadership went directly to the plant gates at Stellantis’s Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, GM’s Factory ZERO, and Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant to shake members hands and take their message to the bargaining table.

We heard from members about what they want to see change at the Big Three. And we asked members what they are willing to do to win big, not just for autoworkers but for their families, their communities, and working class people everywhere.    Thousands of workers signed Support Cards, showing the companies we’re united in our fight for a strong contract. First Passenger Side Takata Air Bag Fatality Prompts Warning

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has confirmed another Takata rupture fatality, the first due to an exploding passenger-side inflator.

The incident is also the first in a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, which was one of the 385,686 recalled in 2015. If you have one of these vehicles, DO NOT DRIVE it until the recall is completed and your defective air bag is replaced.

You can visit NHTSA.gov/recalls and enter your 17-digit vehicle identification number to see if your vehicle has an open Takata air bag recall. If it does, contact your dealership to schedule a FREE repair as soon as possible and follow any warnings from the vehicle manufacturer.

Ford Motor Company has issued a new recall for 125,322 model year 2020-2023 Ford Escape, 2022-2023 Ford Maverick and 2021-2023 Lincoln Corsair vehicles for a risk of fire due to engine failure. Ford advises customers to safely park and shut off the engine as quickly as possible if they hear unexpected engine noises, lose power, or see or smell smoke. Vehicle owners can visit NHTSA.gov/recalls and enter their 17-digit vehicle identification number to see if their vehicle is part of this recall, or has any other unrepaired recalls.

Affected vehicles in this new recall have 2.5-liter HEV/PHEV engines that could fail prematurely. If they do, engine oil and/or fuel vapor may be released and accumulate near ignition sources, resulting in potential under-hood fires, localized melting of components, or smoke. This recall affects 86,656 Escapes, 35,501 Mavericks and 3,165 Corsairs, and Ford will notify owners beginning June 12. The remedy is under development and is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2023. El paquete ZL1 de esta Edición de Coleccionistas con motor LT4 de 650 caballos de fuerza estará limitado a 350 unidades, con un color exterior Negro Pantera Mate, la primera pintura mate ofrecida desde fábrica en un Camaro. ZL1 también contará con el faldón delantero del ZL1 1LE y el alerón trasero del ZL1 1LE en los coupes. La franja negro metálico del ZL1, los calipers de los frenos en color rojo y los birlos de las llantas en negro completan el aspecto exterior. En el interior, los 350 ZL1 Edición de Coleccionistas tendrán una insignia en el volante con un número de serie que representa la secuencia en que se construyó cada vehículo.

US DOT (Department of Transportation) Nueva Regla sobre Prueba de Drogas !!!

Hoy, 2 de mayo de 2023, el Departamento de Transporte ( DOT ) publicó una regla final que, entre otros elementos, autoriza a los empleadores a usar pruebas de drogas fluidas orales como metodología de prueba alternativa a las pruebas de drogas en orina. La regla final también:

• armoniza con la sección pertinente del fluido oral del HHS Directrices obligatorias,
• aclara ciertas disposiciones de la Parte 40 que cubren los procedimientos de análisis de drogas en orina,
• elimina las disposiciones que ya no son necesarias,
• agrega ocho nuevas definiciones, aclarando el lenguaje a las definiciones y enlaces web, y
• actualiza las disposiciones para abordar los problemas que han aumentado en los últimos años.

DOT Publishes Drug Testing Rule

U.S. Department of Transportation sent this bulletin at 05/02/2023 08:53 AM EDT

Today, May 2, 2023, the Department of Transportation (DOT) published a final rule that, among other items, authorizes employers to use oral fluid drug testing as an alternative testing methodology to urine drug testing. The final rule also:

• harmonizes with pertinent section of the HHS oral fluid Mandatory Guidelines,
• clarifies certain Part 40 provisions that cover urine drug testing procedures,
• removes provisions that are no longer necessary,
• adds eight new definitions, clarifying language to definitions and web links, and
• updates provisions to address issues that have risen in recent years.
