LA DIVISION DE AUTOMOVILES DE SUZUKI MOTOR DE MEXICO REPORTA VENTAS CORRESPONDIENTES AL MES DE ABRIL.


México, DF. -- (Mayo 2006) – Se reportan ventas de 340 unidades en la división de Automóviles de Suzuki Motor de México durante el mes de abril. El modelo SUV Suzuki Grand Vitara, representa un 69% y el modelo sedán Suzuki Aerio representa un 31% ambos de la venta total.

En relación al SUV Suzuki Grand Vitara, se reportan ventas de un 69% de la venta total en unidades de la marca, un 37% de la venta total en su versión GL, un 63% de la venta total de la marca en su versión GLS.

Por su parte el sedán Suzuki Aerio, representa un 31% de la venta total de la marca en número de unidades, un 35% de la venta total en su versión GL automática, un 22% de la venta total en su versión GL manual y un 43% de la venta total en número de unidades en su versión top GLS automática.

Kia new plant in Slovakia

Kia set to begin initial trial production at European manufacturing plant in Slovakia

- Construction of €1 billion production plant in Slovakia reaches completion
- New cars scheduled to roll off the assembly lines by late 2006
- Trial production scheduled to begin this month

(SEOUL) May 8, 2006 -- Kia Motors Corporation (KMC) today announced that construction of its state-of-the art €1 billion manufacturing facility in Zilina, Slovakia has been completed and that initial production trials at the plant will begin later this month.

The plant, which is Kia’s first manufacturing facility in Europe, is scheduled to go into mass production by the end of this year. The company has finalized the installation of the production lines and equipment, with a view to testing and synchronizing the various technologies during the trial phase.

Mr. In-Kyu Bae, President and CEO, Kia Motors Slovakia (KMS), said, “We have built the plant based on the key foundations of quality, flexibility and productivity. With the advent of this plant, we are now in a position to deliver high quality cars to the European market and achieve the highest satisfaction for our customers.”

“To ensure stable product quality, we have introduced the most modern, advanced production systems that are available. With our well trained employees, we are ready to establish an extremely competitive production operation in Slovakia,” said Mr. Bae.


A new C-segment model (codenamed ‘ED’) will be produced at the Zilina plant and will be the first of Kia’s models to be produced in Europe specifically in line with the requirements of European customers.

Kia has already hired over 1,200 employees. Recruitment for the first shift of staff finished last month and the hiring of employees for the second shift has already begun. By 2009, KMS will employ up to 3,000 workers and the plant will run a three shift operation.

The employment at the plant forms just part of the 10,000 jobs that are being created either directly or indirectly in the region, as more than ten parts and components manufacturers will build their own plants in Slovakia to supply the demands of the Kia facility.

The ultimate capacity of the plant will be 300,000 units annually. Output will be divided between C-Segment cars and small SUVs. Kia will be the only global automotive manufacturer to manufacture engines in Slovakia, producing gasoline and diesel engines.

The development of the new facility, together with its new headquarters and design center in Frankfurt, Germany, confirms Kia’s commitment to Europe and its determination to become an elite global automaker.

México, D.F. 5 de mayo.- El día de ayer por la noche se llevó acabo en el hotel Camino Real de la Ciudad de México un coctail para la presentación del XX Gran Concurso Internacional de Elegancia, que se llevará acabo la próxima semana, 13 y 14 de mayo en el restaurante las Caballerizas, ubicado en el municipio de Huixquilúcan, Estado de México.


Se recibieron más de mil solicitudes de las cuales solo 428 fueron aceptadas, debido a la gran demanda de los clubes y particulares, quienes dedican parte de su vida a la reconstrucción de estas bellas joyas. Donde estarán más de 15 clubs de autos de Colección estarán presentes: RAC, Mercedes Benz, Volvo México, Street Rod, Vehículos Veteranos, Rambler, Renault Gordini, Dauphie, A y C de Toluca, Corvette de México, MG Car Club, Mini Asociados, Autos Italianos, Porsche, Jaguar, Fraternidad Panamericana, Land Rover, Mustang de México, Karman VW Vintage, Alpine de México, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari México, AMAAC Puebla, Auto Francés, Chrysler, Fiat, Ford Modelo A, Datsun, Antiguos Satélite, entre otros.

Volkswagen contests Transiberico with de Villiers and Kahle

Wolfsburg (05 May 2006) With South African Giniel de Villiers and, for the first time, German Matthias Kahle at the wheel, Volkswagen will participate in the Transiberico Rally through Portugal and Spain from 12 to 16 May. In the third round of the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup Giniel de Villiers, who finished the Dakar Rally in January as the runner-up in the Volkswagen Race Touareg 2, will again form a team with the German Dirk von Zitzewitz. The six-time German Rally Champion Matthias Kahle in his debut in the Race Touareg will be relying on the navigation of two-time "Dakar" winner Andy Schulz.

"Competitions are the best tests for ‘man and material’," says Volkswagen Motorsport Director Kris Nissen. "The Rally Transiberico in Portugal and Spain marks the continuation of our preparation programme for the 2007 Dakar Rally. The ‘Transiberico’ with its legs that tend to resemble the roads of classical rallies fits our development programme very well. Particularly considering the fact that the first legs of the 2007 Dakar Rally will probably lead through Portugal again, we are hoping to gain important findings." As before in the Tunisian Rally in April, Volkswagen will meet the Mitsubishi works team in the Transiberico Rally, too.
Six-time German Rally Champion Matthias Kahle makes his debut in the Race Touareg
With six titles under his belt, Matthias Kahle, who lives in Cologne, is the most successful driver of all times in the German Rally Championship. In the 2006 season he is contesting the newly created German Rally Series (DRS) as a Skoda factory driver. In his previous stints with privately fielded vehicles in marathon rallying the professional rally driver attracted attention to himself. During the Dakar Rally in January he was running among the top ten at times.

"Matthias impressed us during the tests in Tunisia. We would like to give him the opportunity to get to know the Race Touareg and the team in the conditions of a competition," says Kris Nissen. "Matthias has been loaned to us by Skoda. He has lots of all-wheel-drive experience and, at 37, the perfect age for this sport. The decision about further stints in the Race Touareg will be taken at a later time."

Matthias Kahle is looking forward to his debut: "During the tests I immediately felt very comfortable at the wheel of the Race Touareg. Now I’m very eager to see where I stand in comparison with the competition. I’m particularly delighted to have a very experienced co-driver – Andy Schulz – at my side."

Not only for Matthias Kahle but for his team-mates Giniel de Villiers/Dirk von Zitzewitz, who last finished second overall in the Tunisia Rally, the Transiberico Rally is new territory, as well. "I’m assuming, though, that the stretches will be very similar to those of the Dakar Rally’s first legs," says Giniel de Villiers. Co-driver Dirk von Zitzewitz adds, "These narrow

tracks through fields and forests tend to be more comparable with classical rally stages. Because of the many directional changes, the navigation is very demanding. Unlike the orientation required during desert rallies, precise instructions by the co-driver are particularly important in this case."

Special demands made on brakes and suspensions

The Transiberico Rally which starts in Mafra, north of the Portugese capital of Lisbon, on 12 May, begins with a Super Special, followed by three further legs via Estoril, Évora and Caceres back to Estoril, where the podium ceremony is scheduled to take place in front of the casino at 12.30 on 16 May.

In Tunisia Volkswagen tested further developments of the suspension in April. These will be put to the test in competition conditions during the Transiberico Rally. "We want to test these evolutions, which proved to be very good on sand, on gravel now," says Volkswagen Motorsport Director Kris Nissen. "Because the improved suspension results in better grip, greater acceleration and higher speeds, the load on the brakes is particularly high. Since the brakes, which in marathon rally racing have relatively small dimensions in relation to the size and weight of the vehicle, are a major success factor in the Dakar Rally, as well, we have intensified our efforts in this area."

Before the departure for the Transiberico Rally Volkswagen Motorsport will undertake an intensive two-day roll-out in Southern France. Prior to the roll-out Volkswagen works driver Giniel de Villiers – at the invitation of partner Red Bull – will visit the Formula 1 European Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, where he will present his Volkswagen Race Touareg 2 in action in an off-road area.

ZF Sachs new technology partner of Volkswagen Motorsport
ZF Sachs Race Engineering is a new technology partner of Volkswagen Motorsport in marathon rally sport. The partnership intensifies the previous collaboration between the specialists for drive and suspension technology and Volkswagen. In the Race Touareg 2 the factory team relies on a specially manufactured clutch module from Schweinfurt. Further products by ZF Sachs Race Engineering for the desert competition are in preparation. In the Transiberico Rally the Race Touareg will be running with damper technology from ZF Sachs for the first time.

Con un éxito indiscutible en otras latitudes la configuración Hatchback Sport del Mazda 3 2006 ofrece ante todo versatilidad en espacio interior con 3.72 metros cúbicos y un manejo deportivo sobresaliente otorgando disfrute permanente en su conducción, sin duda uno de sus mejores apartados.

Al poner en marcha su motor MZR de 4 cilindros en línea de 2.3 litros 160hp @ 6500 rpm. con doble árbol de levas a la cabeza sorprende gratamente lo silencioso que es su accionamiento, se debe a su construcción total en aluminio permitiendo un bloque de motor fuerte pero ligero, al mismo tiempo admite un acoplamiento firme con la transmisión Automática Sport AT de 5 cambios al frente minimizando vibraciones hacia el habitáculo de los pasajeros otorgando un ambiente confortable en cualquier superficie donde se transite ya sea ciudad, autopista o caminos rurales.

El firme acoplamiento de la plataforma a la carrocería se debe a un diseño avanzado en su armado con rigidez torsional optimizada evitando en su totalidad ruidos por ensamblaje otorgando mayor durabilidad al vehículo, Mazda denomina a todo el conjunto NVH (Aislamiento de los componentes del Vehículo – Noise Vibration Harshness) ofreciendo un ambiente de mayor disfrute general beneficiando sustancialmente al sistema de sonido el cual está configurado con AM, FM1, FM2, MP3 y Magazine integrado para 6 discos compactos, la calidad es bien apreciada por la estratégica ubicación de las 6 bocinas liberando un sonido de alta fidelidad uniforme consintiendo a los ocupantes en todo momento, los controles también se localizan en el volante, la opción de Radio Satelital no se encuentra habilitada.

La ergonomía en su diseño interior fué concebida sin duda para consentir, los reglajes de asientos aunque no son eléctricos dan la posibilidad de múltiples ajustes sin importar la talla del conductor, excepto que pudimos apreciar que una persona de más de 1.80m de estatura se despeinara con frecuencia, debe resaltarse que todos los ocupantes cuentan con cinturones de tres puntos, así como airbag para conductor y pasajero, bolsas de aire laterales y de cortinilla así como anclajes superiores e inferiores tipo LATCH para sillas de bebes.

El apartado de manejo del Mazda 3 Hatchback se destaca por un disfrute permanente de la conducción debido a su agilidad tanto en ciudad como en autopista, resaltando un trabajo de suspensión por componentes optimizados como bujes con fluido integrado rara vez vistos en vehículos compactos, unen los brazos de control a la subestructura frontal aislando eficientemente los ruidos del camino y el impacto con la transmisión cancelando vibraciones pero sin perdida de sensación en la dirección electro-hidráulica asistida (EHPAS).

La transmisión Automática Sport AT con opción manual genera cambios entre velocidades de forma casi imperceptible optimizando el desplazamiento del vehículo por una comunicación con el motor bien sincronizada a bajas y altas velocidades donde la sensación de manejo sport se disfruta a cada momento aún con el aire acondicionado activado, sin duda uno de sus mejores apartados.

La economía de gasolina la cual medimos a detalle nos arrojo números muy interesantes, la utilización de gasolina Magna de 88 octanos puede ser utilizada pero se sacrificara eficiencia en el consumo arrojando un promedio combinado ciudad carretera de 9 Km. /litro, la diferencia con la gasolina Premium de 92 octanos es significativa arrojando un rendimiento combinado de 11.4 Km. /litro, la diferencia habla por si misma.

El sistema de frenos de disco incorpora antibloqueo de frenos ABS y EBD (Distribución Electrónica del Frenado), su desempeño es eficiente sin perdida de contundencia aún con exigencias prolongadas al mismo.
Nos gustaría incluirle el accionamiento de los seguros eléctricos al momento del avance, apertura remota de la quinta puerta trasera, asientos eléctricos, una mayor altura interior y un paquete opcional tuning para un face-lift aún más deportivo como la versión MPS (Mazda Performance Series).

Nos gusto en verdad la gran agilidad en su manejo con diversión real al accionar la opción manual de su caja de cambios automática Sport AT, la garantía de 3 años o 60 mil Km. defensa a defensa y un costo por mantenimiento sumamente competitivo agrega un plus digno de tomarse en cuenta para considerar a Mazda como opción interesante de compra, sin omitir la frescura de sus líneas de diseño minimalista que le otorgan una presencia distintiva donde circula, la filosofía ZOOM-ZOOM a llegado para quedarse atrévase a conocerla estamos seguros que lo atrapará.

Primeros autos Bentley en México

Llegan a México los primeros automóviles Bentley

México D.F. a 2 de mayo de 2006. Llegaron a México las primeras cinco unidades de vehículos Bentley, Carlos Fernández, Director de la prestigiosa marca inglesa en México, confirmó que desde su introducción en el marco del Salón Internacional del Automóvil el pasado mes de
