- Hyundai establishes new sales subsidiary and dealer network in Mexico
- Hyundai to increase presence in the second-largest market in Latin America

Feb. 5, 2014 - Hyundai Motor Company, the fastest-growing automaker by brand, today announced that it has established Hyundai Motor Mexico (HMM), a fully-owned sales subsidiary that will actively respond to Mexico"s surging auto demand.

Hyundai Motor decided to make an active push into the Mexican market, supported by increased awareness of its brand value, a reliable global production network and award-winning products. The new Mexican headquarters, located in Mexico City, will officially open in May.

"The Mexican auto market is showing more potential than ever and we are excited to finally enter this market with our own badge," said Mr. Tak Uk Im, Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor Company. "Our brand, as well as our global production and sales network, has strengthened immensely in recent years and we are confident that we can offer the best products and services in Mexico."

"I"m honored to be part of these exciting times at Hyundai Motor and am eager to see the brand grow in Mexico," said Mr. Pedro Albarran, the newly-appointed Managing Director of HMM. "Some of the top dealers in the nation have signed on to join our sales network and we will be ready to compete head on with other brands immediately." Mr. Albarran, who was appointed earlier this year, has more than 12 years of experience in the automotive industry.

HMM"s product portfolio is still under review, while its dealer network will initially focus on the mid-Mexico area, such as Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. HMM plans to release more details, including marketing and advertising activities, closer to the official opening in May.
